Importing manufacturing equipment into South Africa

Build a practical brief for bottle-making equipment, aluminium machinery and industrial robots before requesting an import quotation.

01

Describe the production outcome

For bottle-making equipment, describe the material, bottle sizes, output target, mould requirements and downstream handling. For aluminium machinery, name the process, profile dimensions, finish and required accuracy. For an industrial robot, define the task, payload, reach, cycle and tooling instead of asking only for a brand or model.

02

Confirm the whole production system

List the utilities, controls, guarding, tooling, consumables, software licences and auxiliary equipment that the supplier's price includes. Record power, air, water, site access and installation constraints. A machine that arrives without a required compressor, mould or compatible control interface may not meet the production brief.

03

Plan inspection, freight and offloading

Request evidence for the proposed configuration, packed dimensions, gross weight, lifting points and handling instructions. Compare freight from the actual shipment data. Identify who will unload, install, commission and train operators, and what evidence the responsible reviewer needs before acceptance.

04

Keep support and compliance visible

Agree manuals, commissioning support, wear parts, critical spares, warranty procedure and responsible contacts. Product-specific safety and import requirements need competent review. Import Falcon can coordinate the enquiry and cost plan; a quotation is not proof of certification, factory capability or installation readiness.
